in the heart of the city

Melbourne Eats Local is a celebration of Melbourne's most authentic food, the people who grow and make it, and the places that bring it to life on your plate.

We're currently collecting expressions of interest from Melbourne eateries who'd like to be part of this promotional campaign, or who'd just like to learn more. We'd also like to hear from producers who supply into Melbourne. If that's you, please send us a note here.

It's a campaign to promote places that have gone the extra yard, mile - or metric equivalent - to support local and regional producers. These are the farming families we hear so much love for, but who still can't always get their food onto plates in the big city.

It's a collaboration between The Social Food Project and Local Food Loop and it grew from Melbourne's Local Food Launchpad accelerator.

It's developing quickly thanks to some seed funding from the City of Melbourne. We're making it ridiculously easy for anyone who eats food in the city to make a difference to nearby farming families. Just by eating at the best places around.
